About me

Hi, I'm Hena Nafis.

SA Wellness Was Born From a Personal Loss. And a belief that things could be different.

I lost my father to heart disease in his early 50s, and later, my father-in-law to a stroke at just 43. Then, in 2023, my husband suffered a stroke too.

Through these deeply personal experiences, I began to notice a larger pattern within the South Asian community. Serious health conditions were affecting people much earlier than we expected.

With a background in public and global health, and more than two decades of experience working with South Asians around the world, I realized there was an opportunity to approach health differently.

Not through fear.

Not through restriction.

But through awareness, personalized guidance, cultural understanding, and practical change.

What began as a response to personal loss became something much bigger: a mission to help change the future of South Asian health—one person, one family, and one healthier choice at a time.

Who Wanted a Better Way

Real people. Real experiences. A more practical approach to nutrition and wellness.

  • I didn’t have to give up the food I grew up eating. The guidance helped me understand portions, balance, and simple ways to make our everyday meals healthier.

    Ananya Reddy

  • What I loved most was how practical everything felt. I could still have rice, sambar, vegetables, and the foods my family enjoys while making better choices throughout the day.

    Priya Nair

  • The plan finally made nutrition feel manageable. Instead of following a strict diet, I learned how to build meals that actually fit my work routine and South Indian food habits.

    Karthik Rao

  • I’ve tried many food plans before, but this felt different. The recommendations were built around the meals I already cook, so making changes didn’t feel overwhelming.

    Meena Krishnan

  • I became much more aware of what was on my plate. Small changes to my everyday meals made eating well feel much more realistic and sustainable.

    Arjun Menon

  • The biggest change was understanding that healthy eating doesn’t mean completely changing our cuisine. I learned to make familiar meals work better for my lifestyle.

    Lakshmi Iyer

  • The guidance helped me move away from random diet advice online. Having recommendations that considered my food preferences and daily routine made everything much easier to follow.

    Naveen Kumar

  • I enjoy food, and I didn’t want a plan that made me feel guilty about it. Learning how to balance traditional meals with better everyday choices has made a real difference to how I approach food.
